About the Sobey School of Business

Message From the Dean

Today's organizations are operating in a more complex and dynamic environment than ever before. At the Sobey School of Business, we provide you with a competitive edge in a world that demands smart, flexible and effective business leaders.

At the heart of our success is a staunch commitment to our mission: To advance management education, theory and practice through excellence in student-centered teaching, scholarship and community outreach. It is this commitment that equips the graduates of our undergraduate, masters and doctoral programs to succeed in a constantly changing world.

Critical to successfully achieving our mission is to be responsive to changes around us, and to be leaders in management education -- not only regionally, but also nationally and internationally. The result is a global approach to problem-solving that prepares you to succeed anywhere in the world.

One of our greatest resources is our vast network of alumni who are pursuing successful and rewarding careers in government, education, business and the military. With more than 65% of our alumni residing in Nova Scotia , graduates of the Sobey School join an immense network of professionals in virtually all major companies, many entrepreneurial start-ups, and government departments. For our students, they provide an invaluable resource of intellectual capital -- providing mentorship, serving as guest lecturers in our classes, as members on our advisory boards, and as distinguished judges in student competitions.

We want you to discover the ways that the Sobey School of Business can contribute to your success through our high quality educational programs, career management services and extracurricular activities. To that end, I invite you to explore our website. Of course, if you wish to personally meet with our staff, current students, or recent graduates, we will be happy to do so.
